CHC / Heli-One has an exciting opportunity for a Category Sourcing Specialist within its Indirect Category Team.  The Indirect Supply Chaing Team is responsible for all categories of spend that do not attach to an aircraft, such as travel, credit card, facilities, IT, shop supplies, training, uniforms/work wear and other corporate services.  This position provides a unique opportunity to support a variety of spend categories within a global organization. On any given day, you could be working with colleagues and suppliers from any of our locations, which may include Australia, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Scotland, and the US.

 

We are seeking an ambitious, forward thinking Category Sourcing Specialist that will be responsible for the development and execution of the procurement strategy for local Australia spend along with assigned categories of global spend.  This position will be responsible for managing the end to end sourcing process and driving the strategy to achieve results. 

 

The successful candidate will be able to transform their skills to deliver cost savings and an efficient service to our internal customers through outstanding negotiation skills, strong financial & analytical skills and your ability to build strong relationships across the organization and with suppliers. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Become the ‘go to’ Indirect Supply Chain lead / expert for assigned category(ies) of spend
  • Develop and execute an annual procurement strategy for assigned categories of spend as well as procurement strategic for specific projects
  • Establish strong relationships with stakeholders to partner on the strategy to effectively manage spend and identify opportunities for savings, prioritize initiatives and other improvements
  • Full visibility and ownership of local suppliers and contracts as well as assigned global areas of spend
  • Proactively analyze spend to identify opportunities for savings and effectively evaluate supplier proposals
  • Lead the end to end sourcing process including building the project team, procurement strategy, gathering requirements, issuance of RFQ/RFP, evaluations, negotiations and contracting
  • Document and report on results
  • Ensure contracts are transitioned into the vendor management phase and roles are clearly defined.  Effectively support the stakeholder in the vendor management process including running business reviews.
  • Contract management including proactively addressing upcoming expirations and working with the stakeholders to ensure compliance to the contract.
  • Support global programs in region including support of the travel, credit card, facilities and procurement programs as needed. 

 

General:

  • Reporting of KPI, savings and other business or internal reviews
  • Collaboration and engagement with key stakeholders across CHC such as Finance, Legal, HR, Safety & Quality
  • Ensure compliance to CHC Procurement and other relevant policies
  • Other duties as may be assigned

 

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

  • Minimum 3 years Supply Chain experience with a focus on Strategic Sourcing
  • Proven experience in development and execution of a category / procurement strategy for a category of spend
  • Strong financial / analytical skill set.  Ability to analyze a large set of data and use the analysis to formulate strategies and opportunities
  • Outstanding negotiation skills with proven experience and results in negotiating high value, complex contracts
  • Innovation and Problem Solving, ability to think out of the box to find creative solutions
  • Strong leadership skills to be able to lead a project and engage the required project team members from any part of the organization / any location
  • Strong business acumen with a high degree of professionalism
  • Ability develop strong relationships across the organization and external vendors
  • Adaptable to changing priorities
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint & Word) and generating reports
  • Training/experience in Continuous Improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) preferred
  • Supply Chain accreditation (CPP, CPSM, CPIM, CSCP) preferred
  • Ability to demonstrate ethical conduct
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Employees must comply with and adhere to all company policies
  • May perform other duties as assigned
  • International travel may be required
