Role Summary

The IT Project Manager will lead complex technology initiatives across our global helicopter operations as we execute our digital transformation from on-premises colocation facilities to Microsoft Azure cloud environments. This role requires a highly self-directed professional who can coordinate cross-functional teams across multiple continents, time zones, and business units to deliver technology projects on time and under budget. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving our cloud migration strategy while maintaining operational excellence and ensuring seamless integration across our global aviation operations.

 

IT Project Manager

Workplace: Remote - Poland

Type of employment: Employment Agreement

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Project Leadership: Lead end-to-end delivery of critical IT projects including Azure cloud migrations, infrastructure modernization, and enterprise application implementations across global helicopter operations
  • Cross-Continental Coordination: Manage project teams and resources spanning multiple continents, time zones, and business units, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout project lifecycles
  • Agile/Scrum Implementation: Apply Agile and Scrum methodologies to accelerate project delivery, facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and ensure continuous improvement in project execution
  • Cloud Migration Management: Oversee complex migrations from on-premises infrastructure to Azure cloud environments, coordinating with technical teams to minimize business disruption and optimize performance
  • Budget & Timeline Management: Develop and maintain project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation plans, ensuring projects are delivered on time and under budget while meeting quality standards
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate communication between technical teams, business units, and executive leadership, providing regular project updates, risk assessments, and milestone achievements
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans and ensuring business continuity during technology transitions
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Coordinate with external vendors, consultants, and service providers, managing contracts, deliverables, and performance metrics
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and monitor project quality standards, ensure compliance with aviation industry regulations, and implement best practices for technology implementations
  • Resource Optimization: Allocate and optimize resources across multiple projects, balancing competing priorities and ensuring efficient utilization of technical talent
  • Change Management: Lead organizational change management initiatives, facilitating adoption of new technologies and processes across helicopter operations and maintenance teams
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, create executive dashboards, and provide regular reporting on project status, metrics, and outcomes

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of IT project management experience with proven track record of delivering complex technology initiatives on time and under budget
  • Strong Agile/Scrum background with certification as Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager (PMP-ACP, CSM, or equivalent)
  • Experience managing on-premises to cloud migration projects, specifically with Microsoft Azure environments
  • Demonstrated success leading projects across multiple time zones, continents, and business units
  • Experience in hybrid IT environments during digital transformation initiatives

Technical Knowledge

  • Cloud Platforms: Solid understanding of Microsoft Azure services, hybrid cloud architectures, and cloud migration strategies
  • Infrastructure: Knowledge of on-premises data centers, networking, virtualization, and enterprise infrastructure components
  • Project Management Tools: Proficiency with Azure DevOps, Jira, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, and other project management platforms
  • Enterprise Systems: Understanding of ERP systems, enterprise applications, and integration architectures common in aviation/manufacturing industries
  • IT Service Management: Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and IT service delivery models

Certifications (Required)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent project management certification
  • Agile/Scrum certifications (Certified Scrum Master, PMI-ACP, or equivalent)
  • Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or higher Azure certification preferred

Project Management Expertise

  • Methodology Mastery: Expert knowledge of both traditional waterfall and Agile project management methodologies
  • Budget Management: Experience managing project budgets ranging from $1M to $10M+ with strong financial acumen
  • Resource Management: Proven ability to allocate and optimize resources across multiple concurrent projects
  • Risk Management: Advanced skills in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for executive reporting and stakeholder management

Location Requirements

  • This is remote work position based anywhere in Poland working Monday through Friday
  • Eligible to work in Poland (citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa)
  • Available for after-hours support and emergency response as needed
  • Willing to travel within Poland for remote site visits (typically 15-20% travel)
