Role Summary

The Power BI Developer will join our enterprise data services team on a strategic project to transform how we leverage data across our global operations. Working remotely from Poland, you will be instrumental in designing and delivering advanced analytical solutions that drive operational efficiency, safety insights, and business intelligence across our organization. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge data technologies within the aviation industry, collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple countries and time zones.

 

Power BI Developer

Workplace: Remote - Poland

Type of employment: Employment agreement (UoP)

Key Responsibilities

  • Report Development & Design

    • Design, develop, and deploy advanced Power BI reports and dashboards utilizing data from Azure Fabric infrastructure
    • Implement complex DAX calculations, data models, and visualizations that deliver actionable insights
    • Create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces that enable stakeholders to make data-driven decisions
    • Optimize report performance and ensure responsive user experience across devices

    Architecture & Governance

    • Architect and manage Power BI report publishing within M365 and Azure Tenant environments
    • Design and implement workspace structures, access controls, and permission models aligned with organizational security requirements
    • Establish and enforce data governance standards, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
    • Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and other security measures to protect sensitive operational data

    Data Platform Integration

    • Work with Azure Fabric data lakehouse built on the medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers)
    • Collaborate with data engineering team to optimize data pipelines and ensure data quality
    • Understand and leverage semantic models and data mesh principles
    • Integrate multiple data sources including operational systems, maintenance platforms, and business applications

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Participate as a key member of the enterprise reporting project team
  • Gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Provide guidance on best practices for Power BI development and data visualization
  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and create documentation for end users and technical teams
  • Support change management activities related to new report deployments

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI report and dashboard development
  • Advanced expertise in Power BI, including:
  • Complex DAX formula development
  • Data modeling and star schema design
  • Power Query (M language) for data transformation
  • Advanced visualization techniques
  • Proven experience working with Azure Fabric data platforms
  • Strong understanding of the medallion architecture model (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers)
  • Deep knowledge of Power BI architecture within M365 and Azure environments:
  • Power BI Service administration
  • Workspace design and management
  • Publishing and deployment pipelines
  • Permission models and security configuration
  • Data gateway configuration
  • Solid understanding of data governance principles, data security, and compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with global teams
  • Legal right to work in Poland
