Role Summary

The design department provides EASA approved design and repair for rotorcraft and aeroplanes for customers worldwide. The Design Engineers Mechanical design is a part of the design team and main tasks are design, compliance verification and certification of modifications to helicopter. We are looking for a proactive, solution oriented and service minded professional to join us in one of the largest and experienced aviation design organisations in Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and design structural and mechanical modifications to aircraft, including CAD work (2d and 3d).
  • Develop drawings, instructions, test documentation, assessments, and other relevant analytical reports.
  • Structural stress analysis.
  • Demonstrate compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and certification specifications.
  • Assist in certification of design changes towards EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) and/or other regulatory authorities.
  • Take role as project engineer in design projects.
  • Support commercial department in tender work.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

  • Bachelor (or similar) or higher educational degree in mechanics or aeronautics (long experience may compensate for education).
  • Minimum 3-5 aviation related technical experience is preferred, but newly educated is also encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge about EASA Part 21J and EASA Certification Specification and other relevant regulations.
  • Knowledge in structural stress analysis.
  • Previous experience with risk assessment and analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Relevant experience with software tools like Microsoft Office & CAD (AutoCad Inventor).
  • Ability to show initiative, work accurately, creatively, and independently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Valid Norwegian residence and work permit.
  • Able to achieve the appropriate security clearance for the role.
