Role Summary

Heli-One is looking for an experienced Aerospace Welder who will be accountable for the effective operation welding equipment for the repair and manufacture of aircraft components, tools and equipment in accordance with relevant procedures and instructions. They will be based at our Delta facility but may be required to work in Richmond from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced welding and brazing techniques, utilizing specialized equipment and tools, to ensure the repair, overhaul, and fabrication of critical aircraft components, engines, and structural parts.
  • Manufacture tools and equipment to support operational requirements.
  • Maintain strict adherence to OEM manual specifications, service bulletins, quality procedures, airworthiness directives, and company policies to ensure compliance and uphold safety standards.
  • Performs maintenance and housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • International travel may be required.
  • Remain flexible to undertake additional tasks as required.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

  • Applicants must be either Canadian Citizens or hold a Permanent Resident (PR) Card.
  • Knowledge of AWS D17.1 and AWS D17.2.
  • Proficient in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), specifically Tig welding.
  • Min 1 year aerospace welding experience required.
  • Must have welding certification.
  • Proficient in resistance spot welding and micro spot welding techniques.
  • Reading complex drawings to plan welding sequences and fabricate within tight tolerances.
  • Completed a welding fundamentals program (Level B and Level C) at an approved technical college recognized by the Industry Trade Association (ITA) or 10 plus years GTAW experience.
  • Able to interpret engineering specifications, manuals, drawings and process documentation.
  • Able to maintain a Welding Shop Certification Authority including scope for the applicable material groups.
  • Pass a visual acuity exam with corrected vision of 20/20 or better (e.g., with glasses or contacts) to meet the role's visual standards.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in the English Language (in both verbal and written forms).
  • Self-motivated and results oriented with a focus on quality.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly evolving and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
