Role Summary

Inventory and Planning Data Scientist

workplace: Jasionka (near Rzeszów)

 

The Inventory and Planning Data Scientist is responsible for leveraging data-driven insights to optimize inventory levels, improve forecasting accuracy, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency. By combining statistical analysis, machine learning, and programming expertise, the role will drive data-informed decision-making across the inventory and planning function. This role is also responsible for running the OPEX and CAPEX projections for the supply chain budget and make recommendation to minimize spend.

Key Responsibilities

Data Extraction and Data Management:

  • Utilize SQL to extract relevant data from various internal and external sources. Cleanse, transform, and prepare data for analysis.    
  • Develop and maintain advanced SQL queries, automated data pipelines and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Analyse existing SQL models for performance improvement, recommend new queries.
  • Proposing and implement innovative digital solutions, overseeing opportunities to improve.

Inventory Optimization:

  • Develop data-driven models to optimize global inventory levels, reduce stockouts, and minimize excess inventory costs.
  • Improve demand forecasting accuracy to ensure optimal part availability and aircraft readiness.
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Employ statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze inventory data, identify patterns, and build predictive models.

Budget Management:

  • Contribute to running OPEX and CAPEX projections for the supply chain budget and make recommendations to minimize spend.

Strategic Support:

  • Assist in maintaining part inventory parameters and guiding the strategy for material management related to inventories
  • Help build action plans, track variances, recommend adjustments, and drive corrective and preventive action plans to success

 

Data Visualization:

  • Create clear and informative visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Develop SQL tools to measure and monitor the company’s operational KPI’s to best optimize supply chain strategy.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, operations, finance) to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest data science and analytics trends to drive innovation and improve business outcomes.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Professional certifications in data science, machine learning, or related areas such as Certified Data Scientist, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate a plus.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Solid foundation in statistical analysis and machine learning techniques.
  • Experience in inventory management or supply chain optimization preferred.
  • Aerospace, Aviation maintenance, MRO experience, program-oriented supply chain a plus
  • Full understanding of advanced inventory planning and management techniques a plus
  • Successful record in Inventory optimization a plus
  • Experience in working within fast-paced, complex, dynamic, multi-cultural business environment
  • Usage of Microsoft suite

CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:  

  • Expertise in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, C++, or Java programming languages.
  • Proficiency in cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) preferred.
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) a plus.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of supply chain principles.
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, and work with a wide range of sensitive and confidential issues.
  • Must be well organized, yet comfortable in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment.
  • Fluent English (speaking, writing and reading) min. B2 level.
  • Must have legal right to live and work in Poland
