Heli-One is the leader in rotor wing maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) with decades of expertise supporting a wide range of helicopters. Our global support network includes base maintenance; line maintenance; component and engine repair and overhaul; and Engineering and Design within our 500,000 square feet of international facilities in Vancouver, Canada; Stavanger, Norway; and Rzeszow, Poland.

 

Heli-One Canada is looking for experienced AVN or Transport Canada Avionic AME (E rated) Engineers to fill positions at our Edmonton, AB location. They will be responsible for carrying out the maintenance and installation of avionics and electrical systems fitted to an aircraft in accordance with applicable installation drawings and / or manufacturer’s maintenance and installation manuals. Ensures all products / systems are maintained in accordance with quality standards and reports discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects assigned by the Avionics Manager and/or Supervisor, and liaise with other trade Supervisors/Leads to meet TAT.
  • Perform aircraft inspections, including airframe avionics, engines and components
  • Audit work packages for maintenance on aircraft through to completion
  • Perform and ensure maintenance on aircraft is to applicable standards following all internal QCP/MPM Manuals.
  • Carry out modifications and installations per installation instructions and certification.
  • Monitor work performed, ensuring estimated times on work cards are met as applicable.
  • Troubleshoots faulty systems to determine a course of rectification
  • Operates Avionics test equipment including air data test set, navigation and communications, ATC ramp testers, and other electronic test equipment
  • Maintain and install hangar housekeeping policies for area of responsibility.
  • Mentor Apprentices to ensure correct concepts, proper skills, and safety practices are applied to complete the job.
  • Liaise with OEMs and/or the DAO to obtain repair design approvals as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Work shifts /weekends as required.
  • International travel may be required

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

  • Valid Transport Canada AME “E” Type license or Military AVN training on CH-146
  • Efficient in the use of electronic or paper based manuals and able to navigate through vendor data to find necessary information
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems and aviation standards
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience on Bell type helicopters.
  • Type endorsement on Bell 412
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft systems
  • Efficient in the use of electronic or paper-based manuals (IETM) and able to navigate through vendor data to find necessary information.
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to process complex systems and logically.
  • Results oriented with a focus on quality. Be computer literate.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to take direction and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
