Role Summary

The NDT department performs and deliver services to different workshops and to airframe maintenance within Heli-One Norway in addition to external support to CHC Helicopter Service operations in Norway.

 

The Team-lead will coordinate the daily activity within a team of NDT technicians.

 

Functional description below is of a general nature.

Key Responsibilities

Level 3 Responsibilities

·       Technical team-lead within NDT process.

·       Maintaining and approving Written Practice to describe the control, administration and authorisation of NDT personnel qualifications and certification in non-destructive testing.

·       Undertake regular assessment (a minimum of one audit per year) of the NDT facilities to ensure they meet all relevant test standards and report the results to the Quality Assurance Manager.

·       To carry out/assist with the annual maintenance check of each qualified NDT Personnel in each NDT method in which she/he is authorised to carry out NDT.

·       To produce and/or approve NDT instructions/procedures required by the Client’s NDT department.

·       Ensure compliance with the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) manual specifications, service bulletins, build sheets, quality procedures, airworthiness directives; and company policy and procedures

·       Provide initial NDT training and examinations of the NDT Personnel in accordance with the company Written Practice and EN 4179/NAS410 standard.

·       Provide NDT Level 3 technical expertise to others as required.

·       Continuously work with cost reduction initiative

·       Domestic / International travel

·       Other duties delegated by manager

 

Level 2 Responsibilities

·       Preparing and carrying out non-destructive testing inspections including; Magnetic Particle Testing, Penetrant Testing and Eddy Current Testing on aircraft parts based on applicable standards, quality assurance measures, and company policies and procedures.

·       Performs maintenance and housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and safe work environment.

 

 

 

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

  • Relevant aviation Certificate and/or relevant higher education – relevant work experience may compensate for lack of formal education in some cases.
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience within NDT as level 2 (3)
  • Self-motivated and results oriented with a focus on quality
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent English skills (both written and spoken).
  • Ability to work in a rapidly evolving and dynamic environment.
  • Accurate, structured, independent work style

Experience with managing a team is preferable
